Fresh Plums

The plums on my trees are ripe, and the trees are loaded. I also was not able to spray with dormant oil this Feb. or with anything for bugs after blooming times. So the Japanese beetles are rampant and so are several other nasties--but I still have a lot of fruit and have been doing some work cleaning up the dropped plums and weeds.
I know I am so very fortunate with all the insurance coverage I have that is helping pay bills for me and support me. I know I am fortunate that my son and his gal pal were not badly hurt and that I did not get more injured that I have been.
And I have a great support team that is helping me, my friends here, my internet friends, the prayer groups that have me and my foot on their list.
So, all in all, I cna say that this weekend, when we celebrate the founding of this country I live in, it's a good weekend, regardless of the opinion of my blasted right foot. Hope every one has a very good weekend

Happy 4th of July to you & yours! A special thank you to Jake! And I pray that your foot continues to improve. I had 2 family members with foot issues currently - both of these have a dropped right foot with nerve damage, but from different causes. But it means we know a bit of what you are dealing with. The sil has so far had 6 surgeries on his after a knee injury, which left the foot problem. My brother's came from a bad blood clot in his leg.

Cindy/KS Thanks, I know I do not want stapled together again. But, all things considered I am very fortunate. The amount of insurance coverage and companies has made my life far more stable than I expected..from a policy that makes my monthly mortgage payment to ones that get the medical bills to the 1 tht is paying me an income while I am unable to work.
But a messed up foot can sure make for miserable days and nights. I do a lot of knitting, helps me deal with pain better than meds do with less side effects.

I have nearly finished a couple pairs of socks for my brother - he is afraid that with the diabetes & the dropped foot, that he could get sores between his toes & not know it. So he requested socks with toes for that foot. I went farther & have made him a normal sock to go with the toe socks & just have to weave in ends this week & then will give them to him next Saturday for his birthday. In the meantime, I decided to try to get another pair done for the other brother who has a birthday 5 days later, but who should also be at the surprise party Saturday. It normally takes me a bit longer to know a pair - started them Friday, already above the ankle today, but I have been dealing with neck issues for about 18-19 months now & had slept wrong again, so could barely move my head & shoulders all weekend.
